The rotary kiln tyre is a large cast steel part, and there may be casting defects such as sand holes, slag inclusions, and inclusions. The sudden start of the cold kiln causes brittle fracture of the tire that is in a brittle state at low temperature. The low-temperature brittle fracture of the tyre occurs mostly in winter and spring.
According to the above description, it can be concluded that under low-temperature conditions, brittle fracture of the tyre could occur under even small stress.
Therefore, when the equipment is overhauled or intermediate repaired, the time when the temperature is below 0℃ should be avoided. Even if the kiln is overhauled in winter, it is forbidden to turn the kiln body suddenly at low temperature without preheating. When it is necessary to rotate the kiln body, heating measures should be taken at the tyre so that the temperature of the tyre is not lower than 0℃ before the kiln can be turned.
