What kinds of steel castings can be divided into?
Steel casting is widely used in many fields such as the industrial production and municipal construction. In fact, steel castings have different kind classifications, and what are the characteristics of these different kinds? How exactly should these steel castings with different characteristics be classified?
Generally speaking, steel casting is divided into three kinds: cast carbon steel, cast low-alloy steel and cast special steel:
1. Cast carbon steel: the carbon content of this kind of cast steel is higher, its advantages are that cast carbon steel has higher strength, plasticity and toughness, and its cost is lower. Cast carbon steel is often used in heavy machinery to produce parts that are subject to heavy loads. With the increase of carbon content, the strength and hardness of the cast steel will also increase;
2. Cast low alloy steel: Cast low alloy steel has greater toughness, and more excellent mechanical properties, can effectively reduce the weight of products, and improve service performance and sevice life;
3. Cast special steel: Cast special steel is a kind of alloy cast steel specially made for the special production. It is different in shape and is casted according to the actual need.
The three kinds of cast steel have their own characteristics, and are applicable in different ranges. Therefore, the cast steel manufacturers and purchasers should choose suitable cast steel parts according to the actual situation.
